Sailing at the Cape of Good Hope

Cape Town with the Table Moutain towering majestically is the base for a choice of two exhilarating sailing experiences: to the southeast the backdrop is the breathtaking mountains of the Cape Peninsula. Stunningly beautiful white sandy beaches give way to the rugged wilderness of Cape Point and the warm waters of False Bay as we cruise our way past coves, magnificent beaches and picturesque fishing villages. Anchoring over night at various yacht clubs en route will give you the chance to explore the myriad of attractions along the sea shore.

The second route follows the less inhabited west coast making for adventure sailing at its best as you visit islands, small fishing hamlets and one of the great bird wetlands of the world. And wherever you go you'll enjoy the hospitality of the friendliest people on earth.

The starting point will be Cape Town harbour - depending on weather and wind condition -from there we sail either north up to the west coast or southeast around the Cape Peninsula.
The sailing yachts are modern and fully equiped and will be chartered by the leading SA charter companies. The type of boat is depending on the number of bookings. There will be a local skipper on board as well as a second skipper and organizer Kutte Priessner. You will enjoy these sailing trips even without any sailing experience.

The trips are fully self-catering, and the guests will be paying for all meals for themselves and the crew.

This one week sailing trip is ideal for a holiday in South Africa in combination with a sightseeing trip. But there are lots of more options such as diving, windsurfing to name just a few - or of course a second week on the sailing boat. We will find various trips in the second week. Price reduction is possible - depending on the number of bookings.

Price: 750 Euro per person per week
Price includes 7 nights on the boat, transfer to the boat from Cape Town Airport and back. (extra cost on board appx. 10 Euro/day for food, harbour fees, taxes etc.) Crew changes on Saturdays. The first sailing trip starts on 13th November 2007 and the last trip will be on 19th March 2008.
